Jean-Guy Landry, 76, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent and formerly of Cap-Pelé and Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Cap-Pelé, NB, he was the son of the late Leonel and the late Anna (née: Landry) Landry.
Jean-Guy began his working career in Waltham, Massachusetts. After several years, he returned to his home village of Cap-Pelé to operate the family general store. Later on, he joined Acadian Construction, where he worked as a carpenter until his retirement. Jean-Guy was an avid amateur radio operator (VE9BUF).
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marie-May (née: Cormier); his beloved cat, Niko; his brother, Gérard (Bernice) of Dieppe; his niece, Danie (Richard) of Moncton; as well as the extended Cormier family.
Visitation will be held at the Chartersville Funeral Home located at 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
A Celebration of the Word will be held at the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
Donations in memory of Jean-Guy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
